打卡（Dǎkǎ），original meaning- A worker clocks in at work using the ID card. Now people use 打卡 to prove they showed up and witnessed something in a popular place.
For example:
华盛顿首府的国家广场是游客们打卡的旅游热点。
The National Mall in Washington DC is a hotspot for tourists.
台湾货轮在苏伊士运河搁浅，成了各国卫星拍摄打卡的热点。
Taiwan's freighter ran aground on the Suez Canal, which became a photography hotspot for many countries' satellites.
